- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I was recently given some great advice by a dental insurance representative and I would like to pass it on to other dental patients. First, you should ALWAYS check into any prospective dentist’s background. So, before you seek treatment from a dentist, Google the dentist’s name to see if there is any record of misconduct, arrest, criminal convictions, revoked licenses, etc. If there is, you should probably look at other dentists. Second, BEFORE beginning any treatment and BEFORE making any payments, ALWAYS compare the itemized charges listed on a dentist’s “treatment plan” to the actual charges that your dental insurance plan allows them to charge you. If the “treatment plan” charges are excessive, do not agree to the “treatment plan” or allow any work to begin. Otherwise, you will be overcharged and you will probably be in for a lengthy struggle to get the overcharged amount back.September 29, 2017by Ted Leach
